Mighty Mule MM271 Single Gate Operator is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Replaced older MMule single arm unit, sad. My MMule single arm unit started failing, so I purchased the NEW MM271. Installation was a disappointment since I was hoping to swap out the old unit --- They are very different. Length, wiring, setup. 1. Old had cast aluminum mounting flange, NEW has only plastic. This is a downgrade. 2. Old had good setup procedures, NEW is oddly horrible. For example, to program a remote you turn off unit, press remote, turn on unit. BUT what keeps someone else from doing this anytime they want? (no tools required). 3. Other setup issue - you do the same thing to program stop location. How can that be? I am still not sure, I did get it to work, but I am not sure I could do it again without messing with the remotes that are setup. 4. Receiver distance is not good at all. The old MMule unit would trigger from 50+ feet away every-time, NEW unit requires me to be nearly in the gate path before triggering. 5. Features have been cut back - No AUX connection for instance. Ant is mounted at the control box which would obviously cause electrical/RF interference since the Ant and all of the cable must cross. In summary, it does open the gate. IF you are doing this for your first time it may be dandy, but if you have any experience with the older products YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED.
